The Junior section established itself firmly during 2014, gaining over 20 members with a good mix of both boys and girls.

The aim of our Juniors section is to teach mainly off road skills in a safe but challenging
environment. Most of all we strive to ensure the children have fun and hopefully fall in love
with cycling. We hope that the children we teach go on to use the skills that they have learnt
in local MTB or cyclo cross races or, as we’ve seen in recent years, our Club Hill Climb.

Sessions are taken by our club British Cycling qualified coach at Maglia Rosso in Hawstead
and last between 1 and a half and 2 hours. Children must have a bike that is safe, i.e. two
working brakes etc, and wear a helmet at all times whilst riding. There is a £5 per child per
session charge (payable directly to Maglia Rosso) which includes a drink in the café.
To see when the next session is and any other news or to contact our coach, please follow
us on Facebook  at www.facebook.com/ccsjuniors.

We also have children’s clothing available: club jerseys, t-shirts and hoodies. Details of
what’s available and how to buy it are on the Clothing page of this website.

Cycle Club Sudbury has a Welfare Officer and endorses the British Cycling policies and
guidance relating to safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults. These are
available on the CCS website, via the “About” tab. The Welfare Officer is Nick Reed, who
can be contacted in confidence by email at welfare@cycleclubsudbury.com or by phoning
01787 277479.

If you would like further information, please contact Chris Sampson via the Contacts page.

  1. Hi there, my 8year old son would like to more cycling activities especially off road. Do you have any spaces available for him to join the juniors club?
