The Junior section established itself firmly  during 2014, gaining over 20 members with a good mix of both boys and girls. With about 30 children now on the books, ages ranging from 5 to 12, we teach a range of skills in a fun, safe environment. The Club has three British Cycling qualified coaches. Club members and parents are welcome to help with the Juniors sessions.

We now use several venues to coach a variety of skills, with the majority of the sessions being held weekly during the late spring and summer, 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday evenings, at Great Cornard Upper School, allowing us to teach general bike skills. During the winter, off-road Saturday sessions are held monthly at Maglia Rosso, Hawstead, on their off-road track.

We have decided to charge for the sessions, with a charge £1 per week for members and £2 per week for non-members. This money has allowed us to buy the equipment required to run the sessions. Occasionally  small groups are  taken to Thetford Forest, putting into practice the skills they’d learnt throughout the year.

Newcomers are always welcome. All we ask is that the child has a helmet and a bike that is safe. The Club also now has a range of junior clothing – details on the Clothing page of the website. We have also created a Cycle Club Sudbury Juniors Facebook page that gives details of when and where the sessions will take place, and gives the parents a chance to communicate with the coaches.
